Chapter One: The Beginning of the Story
It was a grey day. At least that's how I saw it. The clouds filled the sky and the wind made the summer temperatures vanish.
I was sitting on the pier that belonged to my house, which sat right on the Chesapeake Bay. It was my last day here and I wanted to embrace everything about it so I would never forget what it was like here in Maryland. Something I wanted never to forget.
Three weeks ago my parents told me the news. We were moving! All the way to England. A whole other country, a whole other continent! Well precisely, we were moving to the outskirts of London. None of which I was very happy about.
Today was my last day to see my friends. Today was the last day to visit the town that I had grown up in since the day I was born. But mostly today was the last day I had to spend with my best friend and current boyfriend James.
We had known each other since we were four years old. That was the year my whole entire life changed.
What started everything is that the old lady who lived next door finally decided to retire from the library and move closer to her children and their families. She had a nice enough house. It could fit probably around 6 people.
Everything happened in a chain of events. First she moved out. Then James and his family moved in. Then our parents got together because that's what they thought neighbors should do. Well at this little get together James and I met and we hit it off right from the start. As the days went by we became fast friends and soon we became inseparable.
James was always the one who made me feel better about anything and everything. He always had a positive outlook on life and I guess that's what made me like him in the first place. He was my best friend and I told him everything. But one day when we were thirteen he suddenly came up to me after class and told me that he liked me and that he wanted to be my boyfriend. Once he told me this all these feeling filled me up that I never thought that I had felt before. Once the realization hit that I did like him. A lot. I immediately accepted his offer. He was the perfect boyfriend but at the same time he was still the same best friend that I could always depend on.
We spent almost every waking moment with one another. Everything we did, we did with each other.
But now that I was moving my whole life was changing again and I couldn't do anything but watch.
