When she had come to the choir room fifteen minutes earlier to get in a little extra practice time, she hadn't expected to have Jake storm in halfway through in a rage.
He instantly storms over to the tall stack of red chairs, shoving them aside with ease, letting out a loud grunt. She has no idea if he knows that she's there or not, though he has no reaction but to kick a few of the chairs around when she tries to speak calmly above his groans in frustration.
"Jake!" She rushes forward, grabbing his arm and holding him steady. "Jake, Jake, you need to calm down, it'll be okay."
He doesn't reply as he tries (although not nearly as hard as he could) to shake free of her. But she holds her grip and, eventually, he relaxes slightly, running a hand over his short hair as he paces the choir room. She still has hold of his arm.
"Do you want to tell me what happened?" She questions softly after a while, but he shakes his head, not meeting her gaze.
They stand in silence, her still holding his arm, for a while, until moments before the clock strikes the signal notifying the rest of the Glee club to assemble, and he speaks.
"Thank you." His voice sounds broken, and it makes her want to hug him and never let go. But she can't, because here comes Unique and Sugar, chatting about the latest school hottie as they sashay into the choir room.
"Any time." She mumbles before releasing his arm and beginning to clean up the scattered plastic chairs.
