The Rise of Fire Trilogy: Book II
Dimensions Undivided
Chapter I: Where Am I?
I slowly woke up to the sounds of rustling grass and growling, which seemed to be a very odd combination to wake up to in the first place. As whatever was approaching came closer, I shook my head vigorously to wake myself up. Once my vision was cleared up, I wished I had stayed asleep, for what was in front of me was the things that had nearly killed my stepmom: Beowolves.
One of them pounced at me and I rolled out of the way just in time. As I completed the roll, I brought out my weapons: the Bowmerang in its Edge Form in my left hand and The Four Elements summoned though a fiery haze into my right hand's grip. My cloaked waved behind me in the light breeze as I stared down the Beowolves encircling me.
"Just where am I? The last thing I remember is falling asleep in the dimensional void after finishing off the spider mech." I said to myself, not expecting an answer. "That can be answered later. Right now you have to take out theses monsters and get out of that forest." A very familiar voice said in my head, causing me to stumble a bit as I cut down the very same Beowolf that had charged at me again. I quickly figured out who it was and grinned as I righted myself. "Alright. You're going to have to answer some questions once I finish off these guys, though." I responded. "As expected." Athena said as I charged at the rest of the bone-armored creatures that seemed to be made of shadows.
I kicked one away while slashing through another and stabbing into a third by extending the Bowmerang's top limb into the target. I then withdrew the extended limb back into my weapon and cut through a lot more Beowolves at once with my two weapons. A short while later, after very little struggle, I was clear of them. All that remained of them was dissolving remains.
"Alright. Time to get some questions answered while I try to find a way out of this place." I said to my mother as I started running towards what looked like a cliff off into the distance. "Just know that I won't be able to answer most of what you need answered. This is too otherworldly for even us gods to understand." the goddess responded. "I understand. Just tell me what happened after I passed out in that dimensional rift." I said as I reached the cliff face, which was massive as can be. "I'll explain everything once we get on that approaching aircraft. It appears that you must've been somehow spotted in the forest." Athena said as a familiar aircraft came my way. "Bob tried piloting that thing when we were getting team RWBY and a few others back to their world. That means that I had somehow landed on their world." I said, scratching my head in confusion as I started to think a little too deeply into things.
"You can think this over later! They're not the only ones to have noticed you!" my mother said urgently, snapping me back to reality. Monsters of all shapes and sizes started emerging from the surrounding woods. This made the Beowolf pack I had fought earlier look like a collection of stuffed animals.
"I really can't catch a break, can't I?" I asked rhetorically, knowing that I couldn't as I drew my weapons once more. And then eight people landed behind me, most of them lightly on their feet. I recognized half of the group. The other four, including the one who had landed flat on his face, I didn't recognize at all.
