"Hey Arnold, wasup?" Gerald came approaching his friend in the school yard while dribbling a basketball.
Arnold sighed. "Oh, nothing…" He began looking down at his feet.
"What's wrong?" Gerald asked, holding the basketball between his arm and ribs.
"Well, you see, it's Helga." He started.
"Oh. She's been bothering you again?"
"No, she hasn't, she's been too busy hanging around with the new kid in school."
"Well that's good! It least she'll be out of our hair. Come on lets shoot some hoops." Gerald pulled Arnolds' arm slightly.
"No it's not good Gerald! I just don't see what she sees in him."
Gerald looked at him strangely. "Ok…"
Arnold sighed again. "It makes me kind of mad though."
"Why are you so upset? So Helga likes the new guy, so what?" Gerald looked at Arnold and then paused for a second until his eyes widen. "You like Helga?!"
Arnold looked at him feeling kind of embarrassed. "What! No-I mean, I don't know, I… yes."
Gerald starred at him for a second and then fell on the ground with a burst of laughter.
"It's not funny."
Gerald got back up to his feet still giggling a little. "Why in the world would you like Helga?"
"Well seeing her with someone else has made me realized how much I miss her presence around me. It just doesn't feel right Gerald. It's been three days now since she's been ignoring me."
"I would have never guessed you felt that way about her. Well…maybe you should say something to her."
"I've tried but every time I would see her in the hallway, I forget what to say."
"Well, when ever my brother likes a girl he shows up at her house with flowers and candy. That usually works because girls love chocolate."
"So if I do that, she will like me?" Arnold asked.
Gerald sighed. "It's worth a try, what do you have to loose." The bell ringed. "I'll see you later."
They both did that silly thing they always do with their hands and then parted.
Later on that day…
Arnold was at the store buying chocolate candy and flowers. It wasn't long until he saw Gerald outside walking.
"Hey Gerald, wait up!" Arnold grabbed his candy and flowers then went to where Gerald was.
"Hey man!"
They both greeted each other by wiggling their hands.
"I see you took my advice." Gerald looked at what Arnold bought.
"Yea." Arnold smiled.
"Are you going to her house right now?"
"Yes and I'm real nervous."
"Just try to relax and play it cool. I have to hurry and get back home because I have to baby sit my little sister."
"Alright, see you later." Arnold began walking to Helga's house.
He walked for about a block until he reached her place.
