Erick sat alone on the front porch of the old house. It's empty now as everyone has disbanded. He's got an old pillow sack in one hand and his mask in the other. It's Halloween and he always goes Trick or Treating with Luke and some of the kids from the compound. But now that everyone's gone he doesn't know what to do; so he's just sitting there. Every so often the wind would rustle the leaves, making him think that maybe they were coming, but he was always disappointed. Never the less, he waits; he waits and he waits and waits, till it's almost dark.

Then, as the sun is dipping below the trees, he hears a rustling in the bushes. This time it isn't the wind, someone's coming. He looks towards them and he sees Luke slowly emerging, dragging a child with him. He doesn't recognize the child and neither Luke nor the kid ever fess up to where he actually came from. Not that it really matters. Erick leaps up off the porch, a big grin on his face. He had begun to worry that they would all forget, but Luke hadn't let him down. He never let him down. Luke was just like that.

In a garbled Southern twang, Luke tells him to put his mask on. He jokes that Erick doesn't want to scare all the local kinds with his actual face. Neither one is dressed up, they don't need to be. Tonight is the one night a year where they'll look normal. Together they head into the old shed, finding a spare lantern and some of Bray's moonshine. Luke had said it was like he really hadn't left them after all.

Striking a match, they light the lantern. There's just enough oil to get them through the night. Then, they each take the child by a hand and then they all three walk off together; disappearing into the dark Louisiana night.
