Edith was in Gru's lab. Since the time she had caused an explosion fiddling with the chemicals. But still looking wouldn't do any harm. One particular looking machine caught her eye. There was a large light bulb on top and an open door in the middle. ''I wonder what's in there'' Edith thought walking inside the same way she'd done with the iron maiden when she first came to Gru's house.
No sooner was she inside. There was a bright light and puff of smoke. When it had all cleared. Edith saw that she had 15 clones. ''Cool'' the clones all said each happy to see more than one of them. As Edith shaked hands with one of her clones. She wondered what she would tell her father.
Seconds later the five clones were running about causing mayhem throughout Gru's house. When he saw them he could only gap in surprise. ''Edith' he thundered seeing her nearby 'Where did you get these guys?''. Edith gulped now she would really have to own up to what had happened. Now she really would be banned from going in the lab ever again.
''I... I' Edith stammered 'I just looked inside this machine and then it just happened even though I didn't touch anything honest''. Her heart pounded as she waited for the ban. To her surprise Gru didn't ban her. He just shook his head with a hand on it. ''Edith' he said sadly 'That was my fault this time I should have warned you. That was a cloning clamber Dr Nefario and I invented''.
''So I'm not banned then?'' Edith asked. ''No you're not' Gru smiled 'you learned your lesson about what I told you before''. Gru then decided to ask the minions to make some spare ninja outfits for the clones. Soon Edith and her fifteen clones were practising ninja skills.
At bedtime the clones slept in beds made out of blankets Gru had made. ''Hey!' one of the clones called out, 'Edith-4 is hogging the duvet''.
The very next day, Gru decided that all the Edith clones had to go. He arranged for them to each be individually adopted by another family abroad. At Bedtime he asked his real and original Edith weather she would miss all her clones. But she said that one of her was enough for one place.
''Eet seems dat quite a lot of parents will have their own little keeton'' Gru added. ''Yeah, I suppose so'' Edith said.
