DM History of the girls: Agnes's story
''Unicorns I love them, Unicorns I love them!'' a four year old girl sang happily. Her name was Agnes and she was mad about unicorns. She was on a car journey with her parents. But unfortunately her parents didn't like her singing about unicorns. When they decided they had had enough.
They simply pulled the car the car to a stop , Agnes found herself being asked to get out of the car. Before she could even think about what was happening. The car drove off again but without her!. Agnes couldn't believe it. It had all happened so quickly. What had she done to deserve this?.
As she wondered into a little town, she came across a little pink house painted with a rainbow and some clouds. There was an obese woman with brown hair curved in tight bangs, large heeled shoes, a pink cardigan with a pink-gem brooch, and a magenta skirt outside.
''Where are your parents child?'' the woman asked unsympathetically. ''Gone' Agnes replied quietly 'I was abandoned''. ''Then come inside' the woman who introduced herself as Miss Hattie, 'This is the place for little girls who have no parents''.
Miss Hattie pointed to a sign above the gates outside the house. ''MISS HATTIE'S HOME FOR GIRLS'' it read. And with that Agnes found herself screaming at howling as Miss Hattie took her to one of the rooms. Inside the room Agnes found two older girls. One who looked like a teenager had glasses, brown hair tied in a ponytail, a black t-shirt with the Lorax on it, a greenish brown jacket, a navy and purple plaid skirt, white socks and red converse.
The other who looked about two years older than Agnes had light blonde shaggy cut hair, freckles, a striped pink knit cap with ear flaps and tassels, a matching sweater with a red skirt, dark purple leggings and white boots.
''Err hi I'm Margo and this is Edith' the teenage looking girl said 'Who are you?''. ''I'm Agnes'' Agnes replied. ''Agnes what's your story for moving in here?'' Margo asked. ''I was abandoned by my parents for being in a bad relationship with them and this woman brought me here'' Agnes said quietly.
''Oh you mean Miss Hattie'' Margo replied. ''Pure evil that woman'' Edith muttered under her breath. Then Agnes continued ''Miss Hattie said I'm sharing with you''. ''So that's three of us then?'' Edith asked. ''Yes'' Margo replied.
The next day Agnes found herself delivering cookies with Margo and Edith. But they didn't always meet their quota which upset Miss Hattie who would say ''We wouldn't want to spend the weekend in the box of shame would we?''. ''No Miss Hattie'' was what the girls would always answer. They each wished to be adopted by someone nice who would love them.
One day however the girls got an announcement that they were finally going to get adopted. They ran screaming and jumping for joy to their tiny room to pack their suitcases.
''I bet the mum is beautiful'' Margo said. ''I bet the daddy's eyes sparkle'' Edith said. ''I bet their house is made of gummy bears'' Agnes finishes. The other two give her a strange look. ''I'm just saying it'll be nice'' Agnes replied.
In the lobby there was a tall bald man with a long nose dressed as a dentist. ''Girls I want you to meet Mr Gru, he's going to adopt you and he's a dentist'' Miss Hattie explained.
Agnes ran up to Gru wrapping herself around his leg. Margo introduced herself and the others. ''Uh hi I'm Margo, this is Edith, and that's Agnes''.
