Gru was getting frantic. He Lucy Edith Agnes and all the minions needed to get everything perfect for Margo's birthday. She would be 14 years old, still a young teenager. ''Edith Agnes' he hissed 'Have you got your presents for your sister?''. ''Done and wrapped Daddy'' Agnes declared proudly. ''Edith what about you?'' Gru asked.
''Just finishing wrapping'' Edith replied. ''Good' Gru answered ' now go and finish it''. Edith didn't need to be asked twice, she hurried away.
Gru smiled to himself. He felt he had the perfect present for his oldest daughter. Something she'd love more than her other presents. Soon the great day came. Margo spent the morning opening cards and presents. She was wearing a new purple party dress and black tights, something that Margo didn't normally wear. She looked like a princess. She also had a badge with ''14 today'' written on it.
Gru smiled secretly as he handed her a rather small wrapped box. Margo opened the box and found there was a beautiful golden locket. Opening it she found a picture of a pretty young woman and there was the name 'Annie' written in it.
''Annie' Margo read 'she looks kind of like me''. ''Annie' Gru began 'was a woman I knew when I was growing up, she took an interest in me being a villain, but then she was going to have a baby, sadly she passed away after her baby girl was born, and I forgot about it, and that's not all, I made an interesting discovery ''.
Gru picked out Margo's birth certificate from his pocket showed it to her.
Margo noticed the name 'Annie' was written in the name of parent section. ''Was Annie my birth mum?'' Margo asked. ''I believe Margo it seems very likely''. Margo smiled, this was the first ever happy birthday she'd ever had in her whole life!.
''Thanks Dad this is the best birthday present I've ever had'' Margo said giving her adoptive father a hug and a kiss. ''You're welcome Margo'' Gru answered smiling warmly slightly touched by the way she'd reacted.
