I always thought this was one of my best Russinka 'shots.

Snuggles

The pink energetic monkey's eyes were stuck to the glass. Russell carefully examined her, from the excitement of her eyes to the fog from every breath she took that appeared on the window that overlooked Littlest Pet Shop. Outside of the daycare center and shop, was a night of chilly winds and wondrous white crystals falling from the sky. Minka was amazed. Just the thought of rushing into the snow made her burst into a billion squeals! The other pets shushed and scolded her. Some needed to get their beauty sleep for a very special day tomorrow, while others just wanted to sleep for the sake of it.

Minka bounced up and down. Her tail wagged and flung!

"I wonder what it's like to be in the snow," she said to Russell.

"Well, if my calculations are correct," said the hedgehog, which pulled out his check board from behind his spiky back, "If you were to run around in it, you'd probably freeze your tail off, Minka. No offense... it's supposed to be really cold. It can be fun... but cold."

"But fun!" giggled Minka.

"But cold," Russell reminded her. "Now climb into bed and get some shut-eye. We've got a big day ahead of us tomorrow." They were told by Blythe that she would take them out on a tour of the city in the snow tomorrow. The pets could hardly wait!

Russell stretched out into a comfy basket on the carpet nearby the window with a warm blanket over his shoulders. He nuzzled his pillow and shut his eyes with a smile. All of a sudden, he felt someone enter his bed! The hedgehog turned and came face to face with his favorite monkey. Minka gave him a large smile. Her blue eyes shined like sapphires. Russell became nervous. He gulped.

"Minka, what are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm keeping you warm, silly," she replied. She leaned over and gave him a quick nuzzle on the nose, which left the orange hedgehog speechless and red all over. Minka wrapped a bit of Russell's blanket around her little body. She lay half of her head into his pillow.

"Sweet dreams, Russell."

The spider-monkey closed her eyes.

Finally overcome with the butterflies in his stomach, Russell took in a light breath. He cautiously swept away the bangs that were constantly hanging in Minka's face. His friend let out a snore. She looked adorable when she was fast asleep. Russell ran a gentle paw across her furry cheek, a pleasant smile forming on his lips. She giggled in her sleep at the touch of his claws.

"You too, Minka... You too."
