For Em. I know it's short, but I'm getting a feel for this ship. Shhh.
She's always loved the color red. Passion, intensity, danger. It's the color of all the things good girls are supposed to shy away from, but Toni Topaz has never been a good girl.
It isn't surprising, then, that the girl catches her attention. Red hair, glistening red lips, and a promise of mischief and magic in her cunning eyes. Toni, for all her strength and dominance, doesn't even mind when the newcomer stands at her side before the cars, head high and shoulders thrown back like a queen surveying her realm.
Ordinarily, Toni would have put up a fight. It isn't as though waving the flag is important, but she has an image to protect. Still, there is something about the newcomer that makes her step back and give in.
When the strip of fabric drops, and the cars speed away, her eyes don't focus on the race at hand. All she can see is red.
