Chapter One -- Prologue

There she was, alone in her own world, in the forest. Nothing could disturb her now! "Kagome, come on we'll be late for dinner!" Souta shouted.
"Souta, please don't disturb me... I'm reading a book!" Souta walked up to her, looking proud that he could wake her from her own world." Okay. I'll go home and tell mama and jii-chan that you're staying here for a little longer."
With that, Kagome looked up with worry in her eyes. "But you don't know your way home!"
Souta had forgotten about that. Kagome's right, he thought. I DON'T know my way home. "Yes, I do!" Souta lied.
"Fine, then! I'll just follow you to test you!" Kagome said. Buyo appeared out of nowhere just then, jumped onto Souta's head, and viciously attacked him. "OH NO!" Kagome screamed. "BUYO! ARE YOU GOING TO DIE? WHY IS THERE A PIECE OF GLASS IN YOUR FOREHEAD?" What Kagome didn't know was that this was the beginning of her quest for the jewel shards, for that "piece of glass" in Buyo's forehead was actually a piece of the Shikon No Tama.
