Chapter One: Destiny Intertwined
Kairi looked at Sora with tears in her eyes.
"Sayoonara... Sora-kun..." she said. He was there, but not in soul. It was an empty shell.
The fateful event happened two weeks ago... and this was her last chance to talk to him. Sora had gotten attacked by a new form of heartless. One that steals your soul, and not your heart. The soul-stealer ran off with Sora's personality inside of him. This is what troubled Kairi most.
If the soul-stealer is Sora, why didn't he stay with me?
It troubled her so much. This would be the last time she'd see Sora's body like this. From now on, she'd probably never see him again.
Kairi bit down on her lip.
"Sora-kun... AISHITERU!" she said, a forced whisper, for someone hit her on the back of her neck.
Riku looked down. He hit Kairi, but only for a reason. Just to end her pain for the time being. As much as Riku missed Sora, he couldn't bear to have his other best friend in pain as well. He knew that they belonged together, and nothing he did would win her over. So he just became the best friend he could be.
"Shh, Kairi... he'll come back one day... my love..." Riku said in a hushed tone, hoping she wouldn't hear. He loved her so much, yet telling her was too much to bear.
Gently, Riku lay Kairi down. He bent down and kissed her lips, ever so slightly. A tear dropped from his eye, knowing that this was probably the last time he'd get to kiss her. He knew there was a long journey ahead of them. This time, without the key-wielder.
