Stephanie Finds The Bat-cave!
By: Manchester's Stubborn Pansy
Stephanie's phone rang.
It was Batman.
"Hi, Carlos."
"Are you busy?"
"No."
" Pack a bag for a 3 day vacation."
Ranger hung up.
Stephanie stares at her phone. What is he up to now?
Stephanie packs her bag and includes a bikini, just in case.
Twenty minutes later Ranger let himself into her apartment.
"Where are we going, Carlos?"
"I have something to show you."
"Carlos, you being unusually short-winded today."
"I am trying to hide my excitement. Let's get going."
Stephanie knew quizzing him would not get any information.
Ranger headed out of town and into the farm land.
Stephanie watched his face and the blank face was in full view.
"Sorry, Babe, I won't spoil your surprise."
"I didn't say anything."
"You know you didn't have to."
"Why can you read me so well?"
"Because I love you so much...makes it easier."
"But I love you with all my heart yet I can't do it that well."
Carlos smiles. "You will get better with time."
Carlos pulls into a farm-like lane and codes open the gate. He drove straight to a red barn.
He drove to the back of the barn then picked up a fob Stephanie had never seen before and she watched as a steel door in the side of the hill slide open.
Carlos, drove through the door then got out and hit the button to close it and turn on the lights.
It was like driving in a tunnel. Less than one quarter of a mile it opened into a 4 car garage.
"Where is this place, Carlos?"
"You said you wanted to see the Bat-Cave."
"You are telling me you found a house underground?"
"NO! I had it built for you!"
Stephanie stopped dead in her tracks. You honestly built me a house underground?"
"You kept saying you wanted to see the Bat-Cave."
"I...I...didn't...expect...you to build it!"
"I told you nothing is to good for you. Come on Wonder Woman."
Carlos took her had and led her to the control panel on the back door. The door opened and Carlos escorted Stephanie inside and used the fob to open the door.
Stephanie was in shock of all shocks!
Carlos picked her up before she fell.
The house was the size of a mansion to her eyes.
"Carlos, you always said "The Bat-Cave is forever."
"I did and it is if YOU choose to accept it."
This is mine?"
Carlos kneels by her and explains. "Babe, I love you and I always wanted you to be my wife. You were always afraid of people breaking in all the time or fire bombing your apartment. I built a bomb proof and fire resistant. Plus it is environmentally friendly."
"You built this for me?
"I told you Babe, I would go to any extent to give you what you want."
Stephanie hugged Carlos tight. "Can you show me the Bat-Cave?"
"Carlos, I am in shock."
"It has taken me years to get this built. But do you like it?"
"It is gorgeous. Just like you are."
"You have 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 office rooms. One could be a nursery for later, and both a kitchen and a dining room not to mention a full sized gym for me to use."
"How can it be so light without windows. There are two kinds of lighting which gives you the impression of sunlight and a timing sensor which will dim the light if you choose to."
"My next question is the most important question I have ever asked you."
"I will give you an honest answer."
" Will Batman ever live here?"
"No! But Carlos would love to share it for the rest of my life."
"Then let's make this "Carlos' Hideaway" and never allow Bats anywhere near here."
"I love your version the best."
They go upstairs to imitate their new home."
I don't think they need prying eyes to accomplish their tasks so guess we better leave.
Thanks for coming.
