Pierre stood at the entrance to the cave where he had encountered the yeti all those years ago when climbing Everest. It had been nearly a decade since that event, and he still shuddered whenever he thought of it. Truly, he didn't even know why he was there.
"If you wish to be the perfect warrior, you must eliminate all weakness," the wise woman had said, "You mus face your fears and conquer them. Only then will you find what you are looking for."
Why was it always so hard? Why did people always have to face their fears instead of just ignoring them? Maybe he could just turn around and leave. He didn't really mind if he had a weakness or two.
Unfortunately, just as he spun around, he found himself face-to-crotch with hairy yeti balls. The monstrous creature towered over Pierre, and he was not happy. Letting out an enraged shout, the yeti swung at Pierre and sent the man hurtling backwards at breakneck speeds, launching him backwards into the cave.
Standing up, Pierre winced in pain as he saw the yeti charging straight towards him. Quickly, Pierre jumped to the side and avoided the yeti's attack.
Alright, it's now or never, Pierre, he told himself, You can do this. It's just a giant, horribly powerful monster. What's the worst that could happen? ...Okay, maybe I don't feel like taking a trip to Hell today, but I'm sure it won't kill me...hopefully
As the creature prepared for another charge, Pierre rushed him and jumped upwards, punching the yeti in the face. Genuinely shocked, the thing took a step backwards and stared at Pierre. Taking advantage of this opening, Pierre launched into a flurry of blows, repeatedly attacking the yeti in the gut.
Letting out another roar, the yeti grabbed Pierre and threw him down onto the ground before leaping up and landing right on top of the man. Pierre screamed in agony, after which the yeti stood up and clobbered him several times.
Injured and broken, Pierre tried to get up but couldn't even move a muscle. Just then he looked over at the yeti wondering why he had stopped attacking. That's when his face displayed a look of horror and fear unlike anything experienced in eons. Pierre struggled with all his might to get away, ignoring his aching body as he tried crawling to the cave entrance, but it was to no avail. The yeti picked up Pierre and ripped the man's clothes off. The next several hours were going to be the worst ones of his life.
