Part II of "Goodbye"

Why did You have to Leave?

It was melancholic. The air was so depressing, he was sure that some someone must have died. He looked at his handler, question in his large black eyes. The older man ignored his gaze, staring out of the window. Sorrow lingered in his eyes. He touched his arm gently, startling the taller man out of his stupor.

"Heika?" He questioned, trying to put on a smile for his king. "It's Yuuri, Conrad, Yuuri," he said. "What's wrong?" Conrad smiled at Yuuri. "Everything's fine Hei-Yuuri." Yuuri did not believe it, but accepted the flimsy answer. "By the way, where is Wolfram? He wasn't there when I woke up. And he wasn't at breakfast. Is he out on patrols?"

Conrad looked into the distance, the smile dropping. "He left," he murmured. Yuuri looked at his godfather. "Where did he go? When will he return?" Yuuri's breath caught in his throat. "He is not coming back," a sweet feminine voice drew their attention. Greta stood at the doorway in a pale blue gown, her long curls cascaded down her back freely. She fixed serious brown eyes onto black orbs.

"He's gone." The 'forever' went unsaid but hung in the air, increasing the tension. "Why?" Yuuri asked softly, taking small steps towards his daughter. He looked down into her eyes, a benefit of being a head taller. She glared into his clueless eyes. "You drove him to it," she hissed, hands clenched into fists, nails biting into flesh. No, he mouthed. "Yes," she whispered, tears filling her eyes. They stood still, staring into each other's eyes till her tears overflowed and spilled down her cheeks.
