I was in the dojo late one night, taking all my anger out on the dummies. All day today at school, Donna Tobin and Kathy Davis were flirting their butts off at Jack; they were practically throwing themselves at him. And he didn't do ANYTHING! Ugh, why does love have to be so complicated?! I love Jack, I really do! But it just seems like he wants to be friends. And don't get me wrong, I would much rather be friends than nothing at all, but I want to be so much more than friends. Just then, I heard the bell on the door ring and I glanced over. I almost DIED! Jack walked in with a towel around his neck and SHIRTLESS!
"Oh, hey Kim!" Jack said, smiling at me as I threw some punches at the dummies. "What are you doing here so late?"
"I could ask you the same question!" I said.
"Oh, well, I came here to blow off some steam. My life is really complicated right now. Plus, my mom is working late tonight and when I walked into my house, I was greeted by the lovely sight of my brother and his girlfriend, both topless, making out in our kitchen." Jack said, rolling his eyes.
"Oh, yuck!" I exclaimed.
"So, why are you here?" Jack asked me again, starting to pound on a dummy next to me.
"Well, Rudy let me stay late for some extra practice. I kinda needed to blow off some steam as well; Donna Tobin was flirting with a boy I like ALL DAY today, and it drove me insane."
"What do you mean?" Jack asked, "Donna was hanging around me all da-ohhhhhh."
There was an awkward pause and the only sound that could be heard was us hitting the dummies.
"So, you really do have a crush on me?" Jack broke the silence and asked me that quietly, without the typical cockiness in his voice.
"Well..." I stopped punching the dummy and looked at Jack, "Look, Jack, I'm sorry if you don't feel the same way; I just need to get it out there that I do have a crush on you, sorry if this makes it all awkward between us."
I walked quickly over to my bag and wiped the sweat off my face and was about to walk out of the dojo when Jack grabbed my arm, spun me around, and pulled me close to him, wrapping his arms around me. I was pressed tightly against his bare chest, and I could tell I was blushing. A LOT.
"Kim, I have a crush on you too." Jack whispered, looking down at me, "In fact, I love you. I just have been too shy to admit it."
"But what about all those girls?" I asked, "Donna Tobin is always hanging around you and flirting with you! Kathy Davis and Lorie are obsessed with you! Kelsey, Grace, practically all the girls at school are throwing themselves at you, and you don't do anything about it! I mean-" I was cut off when Jack gently but firmly pressed his lips against mine.
I practically melted. If Jack wasn't holding me, I am certain I would have fainted. I immediately kissed back, and our lips moved in perfect harmony until Jack gently pulled away because we both needed air. Jack started kissing me everywhere: up and down my neck, my forehead, my hair, my cheeks, and my nose.
"Kim," Jack said between kisses, "I didn't notice those girls were flirting with me. I thought that they just like hanging around us. I mean, throughout that all, you are always the one right by my side. And I really didn't notice they were flirting with me because you are the only girl I notice. Please believe me Kim!"
"Of course I believe you!" I said, and stood on my tiptoes to place a gentle kiss on his lips.
Jack sighed in relief and smiled down at me. "So, Kim...will you be my girlfriend?"
"I would love to." I said, and he smiled. "On one condition."
"What?" Jack looked puzzled.
"Put your lips to good use and kiss me, pretty boy!" I exclaimed.
Jack smiled and bent down, capturing my lips in his once again.
