"It seems you're dead again," Death said to the young boy.
"Oh, is it the third time when I get a free lollipop?" the boy asked.
"No, it's the fourth," Death replied.
"Dang."
The boy looked up at Death with a smile, and checked his watch, "Oh, I think Chuck will be here in a moment. It was nice for you to visit again!"
And in a moment, Chuck was there, and he sat down next to the other two.
"So, how was it today, Animotix?" Chuck said, turning to the boy.
"Oh, it was awesome! I learned so much about humans and culture! But... I also learned about war and famine," Animotix explained.
"My brothers must have been running around like children again," Death scoffed.
Chuck smiled, "Well, they are just doing their job. Everyone has a purpose and they fulfill it as they wish."
Animotix spent a while talking to both of them about his third try at life, about the wonders he had experienced, and what he thought of the powers in the world. After describing his life, he decided he'd try again, but this time he would be someone important.
To this, Chuck replied, "Animotix, everyone is important. No one is more important than anyone else, the only difference is how many people acknowledge their prominence. But this does not affect their importance. No matter what choices they make, they are always significant."
And Death retorted, "If they decide to disregard their purpose, if they decide to waste their time doing nothing, they lose their meaning. They lose their ability to show anyone the 'importance' that they are given."
And Animotix listened to both of them, and he smiled. "Well, whether they disregard their purpose or decide to achieve it, they still impact people. Everyone and anyone can make waves that collide with each other and create events to get others to achieve their purpose."
They sat for a while longer, until Animotix said goodbye to the powerful entities he had been close to for his entire life, all of them.
"Chuck, your oldest and wisest child is growing more and more with each life. Someday he may surpass us in his wisdom. I fear for you," Death chuckled. A rare sight from the morbid horseman.
But Chuck simply laughed and grinned, "There's no need to worry for me, Death. Animotix's purpose is to gain as much knowledge as the world holds for him, and to deal with that knowledge in a way that impacts us all."
"Yes, and who are we to speak importance, Chuck? I think we might have a slightly biased opinion," Death said matter-of-factly.
Chuck shrugged, "Hey, but we have Animotix to correct us. Just because he's an angel doesn't mean he is aware of the power he has. He is content without power, and I think that is perhaps one of his wisest choices."
Death nodded at this, and checked his watch.
"Well, I have an appointment. It was nice to have a chat, we've been distant for a while now. Make sure Dean and Sam don't find out who you truly are, Chuck," Death said as a closing.
"Of course, Death. But there will come a time when they're ready. There always is a right time," Chuck replied.
And Chuck was left alone, to think on what he had learned from the angel and the horseman.
