Broken Windowpane
Screams fill the air with the sound of glass shattering following soon after. The sudden silence is overwhelming in the night.
A lone scream of pain breaks the tenuous silence. A neighbor dials 911 having been up watching TV. when the fight started.
Help arrives but one among them is the most shaken. He knows this house; it's his best friends of more than ten years. The friendship has begun to grow into something more in the previous weeks and he is now frightened of what he will find.
Stepping into the house, they quickly search for the girl who lives here. What they find in the kitchen makes the rookie paramedic riding with them almost loose his dinner.
There are broken dishes, overturned chairs, and table. The worst of it is the girl on the floor. Twisted at odd angles bloody and pale the blood splatter and smears around her tell a gruesome tell.
Her friend quickly rushes over with his kit to asses her injuries. She has been stabbed multiple times and has a long knife wound down her left arm. She also appears to have a broken leg and wrist as well as blood loss and a concussion. They quickly get her to the hospital where they get her into surgery, x-ray, CAT scan, and giving her several blood transfusions.
Her friend has taken off his shift and called in his family, the only people she has left. They ask him several questions about what happened but he has no answers to give. Several days pass with her still unconscious. CSI and police have already gone through the house.
A week later, her eyes flutter open and a collective sigh is heard in the room. A warm hand grasps her own and she turns her had to stare into the eyes that have starred in her dreams. After some questioning, she is able to tell her story, clinging tightly to his hand while his other wipes the tears from her cheeks.
After she is released, she goes to live in his house. They have finally declared their feelings and can't stand to be away from each other, although he has the ulterior motive of trying to keep her from harm.
A/N Ok, so the person that her is captured and jailed, YAY, but I can't tell you who he is, you need to guess. HINT: Look at her catalogue of injuries. I threw in like one of my own, the multiple stabbings, and the arm slice is out of place, original story wise everything else is there.
