Jason stared out of the window. The whole school thought he had a thing for Esther Robinson.

Yeah, right.

He had a thing for someone else. A certain someone he had met when visiting a student.

Trudy.

He thought of her. Thirty five, small, dark, kind of a preoccupied wimp and she had a sweet nature. She had a tendency to call everyone sweetie, to hug people and to cry if she was shouted at.

He loved the way she smiled, her bubbly personality.

Esther knew this, she had a thing for some waiter she met in a cafe.

He felt a desperate passion for a woman he knew he could never have. He was dying slowly and he wished he could tell Trudy how he felt for her before he died. She lit up his world.

But recently, she had met a student's godfather and fallen hopelessly in love. Jason knew he didn't stand a chance if this man took her.

He liked Trudy so much, wanting her desperately and hurting as he watched her flirt and him flirt with her.

The two of them had special little moments when doing the final rounds, where they would laugh with each other or kiss. It wasn't a lot, but it was just enough. They looked so good together, it drove him mad.

But he love Trudy enough to want to see her happy.

She was happy with Jasper and he had more to offer her anyway.

He realised that it was time to move on and that she would never be his.

He had found the love of his life, but she had another love and it looked like he would die before she knew that he loved her.

What was he going to do?
