Chapter 1: Your such a bad liar.

She sat in her office alone. In pure darkness. Her hands covering her beautiful structured face, her status of an elegant woman was now conveyed with a tired and less perfected woman. Her mind was at the point of tearing, by no means was she about to give up though. There was something niggling her at the back of her mind. Something was telling her that she needn't give up because she needed to solve this one. It was getting too much. She didn't want to cross the line, but in a way it had already been crossed. She feared this, she feared the consequences towards her best friend Cal Lightman if she were ever to reveal her feelings. Rejection screamed at her, over and over.

Rewind

Hearing her heels clutter down the corridor Cal knew exactly who would be entering his office. Perching his feet on his desk and relaxing into his chair he waited for her arrival.

"Ah Foster", he said wetting his lips with the edge of his tongue swirling around his slightly parted dry lips.

"Cal, oh I'm surprised your new friend isn't here you know helping you", she took a seat opposite him.

His eyebrows curved almost staging them to different levels, she was confusing him. Cal Lightman hated to be confused.

"You don't like 'er, do you luv?", he asked studying her expression to capture even a single second of an emotion.

"I didn't say that, did I?", she was almost certain she had one over, but hell who was she kidding. Cal Lightman knew when anyone was lying and especially her.

"No but your face does. So come on then", he relaxed back into his chair and entwined his fingers together. Crashing his lips open and then forcing them shut.

"What?", she asked her laugh almost turning into a shocked and pained emotion. She tried several times to open her mouth to express her feelings, but being Gillian she just couldn't.

"See that there luv is the perfect liar", pointing in her direction and slightly closing one eye. He seen her shuffle as she became very uncomfortable.

Gillian Foster hated to be read. Besides, now he was going against the rules.

"Don't read me Cal!", her face was almost as tensed as her body. She was crying out to stop him from reading her. She could see the line appearing.

He simply nodded and stood from his chair. Walking around to her side of the desk he stood towering over her small frame.

"Your such a bad liar Gillian", he knew her. He knew her too well.
