This fanfiction is based on a combination of Happy Tree friends, and the indie horror game RPG Ao Oni and its various versions. Prelude.
Deep within the forest, there lies a large, sprawling mansion, roughly three hours from the outskirts of the town of Happy tree. No one knows how long the place has been there, nor who the previous owners were. The rumours about the town claim that the place is…Haunted.
No one ever goes to this mansion. They're all too scared to visit it, and the rumours claim that dark and evil things will happen to anyone who enters the place. Some claim that a monster roams the desolate halls, while others claim that the ghosts of the past wander around the building, bringing vengeance down on anyone who would disturb them. Whatever the rumours claim is haunting the mansion, the end is always the same. Once you enter, you can never leave, no matter how hard you try. That alone would keep all but the bravest, or the stupidest, away from the foreboding place. And so, the place stands tall and alone, surrounded by the dark green pines that make up the forest.
Until one day, when four brave individuals decide to investigate the mansion, to see if it really is haunted. And it may soon be a decision that they would regret for the rest of their lives…if they can escape.
