A/N: So after last night's episode, I really wanted to have the episode make some sense to me. I mean, come on, Lisbon almost cried because of Jane and he just carried on being the crazy ass maniac he always is. It's just not fair, Lorelei didn't deserve what he was doing with and to her. She's an evil person and I'm actually glad that Red John took care of her. He actually killed the person I wanted him to kill.

Don't look at the title, I was completely left without any inspiration so this was all I could come up with :)

"She's playing you." He suppressed the urge to huff and scoff. What the hell was she thinking, going round and saying something like that?

Instead, he stayed reasonable and calm.

"Playing me? How?"

"You're blind. You're involved with her." Involved with her? Wait a minute! "It's clouding your judgment."

"There is no involvement. I feel nothing for her."

"Now you're really lying."

That was when the emotional play on her beautiful face started. It looked as though she had caught herself being jealous of Lorelei. She shifted on her feet, all the while looking at him. Her lips fell open. She averted her eyes, but not in time for him to spot the hurt in them. She looked on the brim of tears, but wouldn't let herself. She turned around almost completely, looking into the furthermore uninteresting room. Her emotions were getting out of hand and she knew – hell, even he knew it.

She didn't look at him for a few seconds and he didn't force her to.

The only thing he was thinking was, 'don't cry, please don't cry over me, I'm not worth it'.

She swallowed.

He knew it was a lie what he was thinking – he knew the only person she could and would cry over now was him. And it should never have been that way.

She thought he was involved with Lorelei? Had feelings for her? She couldn't be more wrong.

The only person his heart belonged to was she. Teresa Lisbon. But the only way to keep her safe was keeping her away from himself.

'People who come close to me, bad things happen to them.'

Their eyes crossed.

He was in far too deep, and he was beyond saving already. He had fallen in love with her even though he never should have.

And judging by her expression, she was feeling the exact same way.

'You'll get her killed this way, Patrick Jane. Stay away from her.'

So he did.

A/N: There. That's my opinion. Hope you can find the willpower to agree with me, lol. I'll just hide inside my cave, you can throw tomatoes but don't have my hair messed up, please? I care too much about my hair. :)

And you can't convince me into believing that the only reason Jane stays away from Lisbon is because Lorelei tells him so. Someone on Tumblr told me this and I absolutely disagree. He won't listen to her advice, she's just a pawn to him just like she is a pawn to Red John. But okay, feel free to disagree with me, I won't judge ^^
