Disclaimer: I don't own it…the characters belong to the amazing J.K. Rowling, and the song is Teddy Geiger's "For you I will (Confidence)"

Alright (Yeah)

Wandering the streets in a world underneath it all

But nothing seems to be
Nothing tastes as sweet as what I can't have
Like you and the way that you're twisting your hair round your finger
But tonight I'm not afraid to tell you
What I feel about you

Albus Dumbledore is not the type of man one would expect to quake in his boots at the thought of a woman. But on this night, deep in the heart of Hogwarts, he was doing just that. For this was it, the night he would finally tell Minerva McGonagall that he was madly in love with her.

Oh I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
And cannonball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will, for you I will

As he walked through the halls to his deputy's private chambers, doubt began to spin a web in his mind. By the time he reached the entrance to her chambers, he wanted to turn and run. But Albus Dumbledore was not a Gryffindor for nothing, and Minerva wasn't just any woman, she was his best friend, and the love of his life. She was the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.

Forgive me if I st-stutter
From all of the clutter in my head
Cause I could fall asleep in those eyes
Like a water bed
Do I seem familiar
I've crossed you in hallways a thousand times
No more camouflage I want to be exposed
And not be afraid to fall

When she opened the door, his heart jumped into his throat, and for a single heartbeat, all of the emotions running through his head reflected in his eyes, and just as quickly vanished.

She was gorgeous. Even in her tartan dressing gown, Face weary and strained, hair piled haphazardly on top of her head, she was the most beautiful woman Albus had ever laid his eyes on.

Oh I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
And cannonball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will

"Albus! What are you doing here so late?"

"I wondered, my dear, if I might come in? I have something to ask you."

She let him in, though still thoroughly confused. For, in all the years she had known Albus, she had never seen him look so nervous.

"What is it, Albus?" He was beginning to make her nervous with all his fidgeting.

"Er…well…erm…I-I…"

"Albus…ALBUS!"

"Yes?"

"Just say it!"

"Right…well… Immadlyinlovewithyouandihopeyoulovemetoo" he spit the words out so fast that Minerva became even more confused.

"What?"

"I said, I'm madly in love with you, and have been for some time now. I don't reckon it's going to go away. I was inquiring as to whether you felt the same about me?"

Minerva had to fight back a laugh at the look of fear and uncertainty on his face. She jumped into his arms so quickly that he barely had time to catch her, and just as quickly her lips were covering his in a passionate but sweet kiss.

Oh I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
And cannonball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will

"It's about time you asked, Albus!"

A/N: mmk… so I know the last part might be kinda O.O.C., especially for Minerva, but I couldn't resist ending it like that! So…tell me what you think, Was it good? Bad? Should I never write again? Constructive criticism is appreciated!
