A/N: For Humnut via the Drabble Request Forum at HPFFC. The request went in one direction, I went in another, deal with it.
"Do I want to know what you're doing?" Nine-year-old Ginny re-defined annoying some days, especially where her older brothers were concerned and even more so where Ron was concerned. But the little pest did have one good quality, as far as he could tell – if it was a really bad idea, she'd be the first to notice and run off to fetch Mum.
In this case, Ron was messing with something in the shed, the only place their mum didn't dare enter. It was a sacred place for the boys in the family, the perfect place for hiding anything they couldn't show Mum. Over the years, snakes (Charlie), experiments gone wrong (the twins), and a stray cat (Ginny, who disregarded keep-out signs) had been among the more unusual items inside. But the most unusual by far was Mr. Weasley's collection of Muggle equipment.
"What part of 'keep out' do you not understand?" Ron snapped. Of course she didn't understand that girls weren't allowed in the shed. Of course she had to barge through every closed door, especially when there was a good reason not to. She took after her mum in all the wrong ways.
"Oh, no! Don't put that in there!" Ginny screeched as she cautiously opened the door. As she'd feared, her brother was messing with their dad's stuff again. This time, he was on the verge of dropping a small battery into a bottle of cleaning chemicals. "If you do that, we'll all be blown to pieces! Put the stuff down, NOW."
"The twins do this sort of thing all the time, and nothing bad ever happens to them," Ron protested. He knew his little sister was right, but he was half tempted to do it anyways.
"They have a bit more common sense than you do, despite the insanity factor," she replied as she grabbed her brother's arm and dragged him out of the shed. "I'm going to tell Mum about this, and you'll regret it."
