A conversation between Logan and my OC set after the first couple episodes. I don't own X-Men. Please Read and Review!

Buzzing drew her from less than peaceful sleep as Tess Creed rolled over and retrieved her cell phone from the hotel floor. Growling at the late hour call, she could suspect who would be on the other in. Flipping it open, she tried not to sound too put off. "Yeah?"

"That's some way ta answer a call." Logan's voice came through every bit as grouchy as she remembered. It had been close to a year since they'd spoken, losing track of each other within a few weeks of leaving the institute.

"Well ah had a feelin' it was most like you, or someone I was gonna cuss till the sun came up anyway; it is like three in the mornin'."

He growled, though she didn't really care. "I'll try not ta be offended. Where are you?"

She sighed sitting up, eyes falling on the man who'd been her lover for the past few nights. She'd picked him up in a bar outside of Dallas and they'd crashed together in this motel. "Dallas, why?"

He seemed to consider his options before speaking again. "We've rebuilt the school, putting the team back. I need ya."

Shaking her head, she slipped from the bed and moved into the bathroom without causing her lover to budge. "What's the point Logan, so we can all live like everything's fine and the world's not against us, while the professor and Jean's ghosts are hangin' over our heads?"

He growled, losing his temper. "Ya think I don't feel them here? Warren had the school rebuild but it still feels empty. Forge, Kitty and Bobby are the only ones ah've managed to find and get back here. Summer's is a waste of time and Rouge…she's got her own agenda. Don't think Hank ever left the grounds except to get supplies and that wasn't often."

As a tear slipped out, she sat down on the bathtub edge and listened to him vent, her heart acing. "Well it's not like ah didn't try. Ah begged Hank to come with me after everyone cleared out but he just wouldn't. Really don't know if having us back under the same roof is a good idea; the last fight got nasty."

He sighed and his tone softened. "Yeah, Ah've heard. Look Tessa, he feels pretty bad bout how things ended." She could hear him close and door and step down onto a gravel driveway. "It won't be easy, but there's a fight comin' an' we need all the hands we can get."

She knew Logan had never been the type to openly ask for help, he'd never beg for it. With her decision made, she stood and reached for the door handle. "Alright Logan, give me a couple hours ta arrange it. Ah'm comin' home."
