The sound of a door slamming down the hall startled Harry awake. He rolled over, pulling his blankets over his head as he turned, and struggled to remember the details of his dream. He tried to burn the memory and sensations into his mind. Struggled to not let any of it slip away.
Slender arms encircling him and the press of lips. A whisper at his ear, "You are my everything."
A strong hand rubbing against his back. "I love you."
Smiling grey eyes that shine with affection.
A warm smile.
He clung to the dream guiltily. What would Ron and Hermione think if they knew? They would surely be worried. Would they also be disgusted? Would they ever understand how he could yearn for his dream to be his reality? It's not something he wanted to contemplate right now, but he knew he would have to tell them eventually. Make them understand that it didn't mean he's thinking of leaving them behind.
Harry imagined what the dream's conclusion would be.
He leans into the embrace, "Mum," and takes hold of the hand not stroking his back, "Dad." His eyes meet grey, "Sirius," and he returns the smile, "Remus." His throat closed up a bit just thinking it, but he continues in his daydream. "I love you all so much. I'm not okay yet, but I'll get there. I'll keep living for you until I can live for myself. One day I'll be alright."
He could almost feel a tightening of the embrace as he rolled over. He smiled a bit to himself as he rose to start his day.
