As the sun peeped in through the curtains of the main bedroom of the Mason household, two peaceful bodies could just be made out. Jeffery's eyes flicked open to the view of his heavily pregnant wife sleeping peacefully on her right side a hand placed gently on her bump. As she slowly rolled over she felt her husband pulling her closer to him before placing a hand on the bump just as the baby kicked a little too hard. Rachel jumped in her sleep causing her to wake up sleepily and looking at her bump and rubbing it. "Why does she have to kick me so hard at half past six in the morning?" she whined. She liked sleeping in at the moment. Rachel kissed her husband who had supported her through all of this and she was sure he would after the birth of their daughter. "Hello beach whale of a wife to be," he joked knowing she would have some comment to make.

An hour later they were sat on the sofa talking about the baby, smiling and thinking about watching her grow up together, taking first steps and saying her first words. That was until Jeffery had some news for Rachel. "Darling this may not be the best time to tell you about something like this but my cancer has returned and this time the doctors say I don't have long to live." Tears formed in his eyes as he looked sadly up at Rachel. She stuttered, "The cancer's back? But I thought they said you were ok now..." Jeffery admitted that the doctor had told him the cancer may return at some point. She broke down onto him after the pain of him having it last time she hoped they wouldn't have to endure it any more. He held her close, "I have been given this news before though and we fought it and I will still be here to watch our daughter grow up." He promised her after which he placed a loving kiss on her lips.

A week later they had everything ready for Rachel's trip to the hospital when she felt a twinge in her stomach. She screamed as she felt her waters break. Jeffery ran in and saw her on the floor sobbing at the pain she was experiencing. "Love what's happened?" he asked concerned taking her hand hoping this wasn't about him and the cancer, before seeing Rachel's waters had broke and realising that his daughter was about to make her entrance into the world.
