"Remind me again why are we doing this?" Jinx said frustratingly.
"Well, you and Raven are the only Titans who use magic, and since this…place is obviously of magical nature, than you will have to work together to find out what exactly is it. Besides, you will always have the transmitters if you run into trouble" Robin explained.
"Fine, whatever" Raven said.
"First, I need to debrief you. Cyborg and I stumbled across a hidden door inside some ruins while we were patrolling the east side. Both the door and the room behind it were covered in symbols of some sort- Raven, I need you to search one of your books that might help you find out what they are"
"Do you think I just have an "Idiot's Guide to Magical symbols"? It's much much more complicated than that; there are many families of…" Jinx and Robin stared at her blankly. "Fine, I'll find something" she shrugged.
"So, what exactly is in this room?" Jinx asked. "Well, nothing" Robin answered. "What do you mean 'nothing'?" "I mean that except the encryptions, the room is empty. That's why we need your help"
Jinx and Raven walked together away from Robin, preparing to leave the Tower, when Raven suddenly stopped. "Wait, Jinx, before we go, there is something we need to do"
"What?"
"We need to learn each other"
"What does that mean?"
"Like Robin said, we are the only Titans that use magic, but if we want to work together, we need to understand how our magics exactly work"
"…"
"Okay" Raven sat down on the couch. "My powers work by control and focusing of emotion. Because of that I need to stay calm and meditate every day".
Jinx sat down after her. "And what happens if you don't stay calm?".
This question hurled many unpleasant images and memories to Raven's mind, which she decided to sum up as "Not good".
"Oookay" Jinx murmured. "My powers work through imagination" she explained. "I just need to picture what, um, what goes wrong, and it just happens. I haven't really thought about it until now, I just used them on whim and improvising"
Raven glared at Jinx, and then rolled her eyes. "This should be interesting".
Jinx replied, heavily annoyed: "Just because you feel so high and mighty with all your meditation and ramblings about 'controlling my powers' and all that doesn't make you better than me! My powers just work, Okay?" near the end she almost shouted, and then sighed.
"Do you feel better now?"
"Yes, much better"
"Good. Now let's go"
"This is totally embarrassing" Jinx grumped while being carried by Raven flying their way to the east side of the city, holding Raven's "Ye ancient Book of Symbols Arcane".
"If Cyborg can handle it, so can you. Stop complaining about everything" Raven exclaimed.
"I dunno, I'm just not so used to the whole 'Titan' thing just yet. One day I'm fighting you guys, and then Kid Flash…" Jinx lingered on those last two words, lost in memory and missing him, but then snapped out of it to complete her sentence "…And now I'm here, helping you save the day and all that stuff"
Raven said, with a slight smile, "I'd very much rather have you as an ally than an enemy".
"So do I"
"Well, we're here" Raven noted while slowly soaring down until she could put jinx back on the ground. "Phew!" Jinx released a deep breath as she stretched her legs "Thank god for solid ground".
"I think this is it" Raven pointed to a rusty door that was half buried in the ground, covered with a glyph of some sort. Jinx browsed through Raven's book "Hmmm…This looks kind of like this one", as she pointed to a page with a similar dotted cross as the door. "Oh". Raven raised an eyebrow "Why, what does it say?"
"Danger"
