It sits low on her back, curving inwards in the middle, towards her spine. Spencer can't help but look at it now.
She saw it before, on the day they met. A quick glance behind Ashley when she didn't think she was looking. Caught. Eyes quickly swerved back to the homework in front of the blonde.
She doesn't hide her eyes now. Ashley is sprawled on her stomach next to Spencer, watching the television, and the already revealing shirt has shifted upwards. She was never a fan of tattoos, especially when they qualified as a 'tramp stamp.' But she likes this one. It's nice, simple, and Spencer feels the urge to run a fingertip along the pattern.
She tilts her head, brow furrowed at the thought. She's touched a tattoo before, stroked the lines, amused when the skin would be raised. But when her hand lifts off her thigh, she can see it shake, and instead of tracing the skin next to her, she presses the palm under her own leg.
Ashley turns her head to say something, grinning, and then she notices Spencer's hand under her body. She asks if the blonde is cold, and Spencer just laughs. A little too quickly and loudly. But she laughs and tells her she isn't cold. The brunette smirks, almost like she knows, but she lets Spencer get away with it and turns back to the screen.
She relaxes when she's not being watched, and lets her eyes move back to the tattoo.
Her fingers twitch under her leg every so often.
