I appreciate all comments and suggestions they truly mean a lot to me. As for HC247, her Fiyeraba's are nothing short of amazing and brilliant! After you are finished here I highly suggest you go and read her stories.

P.S. I've changed up some of the wording in this fic to make it slightly different from the ALAYM song. Just letting you know I did that on purpose I just felt it flowed better.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own these characters or the song. The song is copyright Stephen Schwartz.

He never could have predicted this.

The man knew he could not foretell the future.

He never cared nor wanted to do that sort of thing anyway.

Especially when it came to her.

He had been all about living moment by moment, spinning in the events of life like a dance.

Since the day he was born, his life had been planned out for him so he had no reason to wonder or worry. Things had taken an interesting turn when he had entered Shiz and had successfully completed his first year.

It then progressed in to a second, third and fourth… Like it always did time had moved forward to the point he had been prodded in to an engagement that inwardly ate away at what was left of his soul.

The union that slowly yet certainly would have crushed his very heart.

Now here he was, in a dense forest setting down a small bag on the dampened earth. He could not believe he was now turning around to face her as she lowered herself to said earth. It did not take long for him to join her, his large hands grasping her smaller ones.

"Fiyero," her voice came out soothing to his nerves as he gazed at her.

"I, we… What in Oz just happened?"

The captain of the guard sighed as he gazed at the perfect way the moonlight through the trees accented her features. The midnight black of her hair, to the angle of her face to the way her cloak billowed out around her. She was what had haunted his dreams, filled his days with endless searching and nights with relentless longing.

"You can say there's no future for us as a pair," he began as he squeezed her hands, "I know that, I know, I don't care. Do you hear me Elphaba? I do not care."

It was then his lips were on hers as he pulled her figure close to his body. He could feel her tense in surprise as he held tightly to her like a lifeline to his sanity.

It was not long before he felt her relax against him, the strands of her hair lightly brushing the side of his cheek. He moaned as her timid response became a passionate need as her hands moved up his arms, to across his shoulders and in to his hair. The captain barely noticed as he fell back on to the earth with her live form on top of him.

"My wildest dreamings," she breathed as she gazed at him, "You, you are here and I am lying beside you. I never thought…"

"I want you," he interrupted her with a finger to her lips; "I have fallen under your spell. Not just for tonight … Maybe I am brainless; I see things differently because of you…"

"What if this, this will be over…"

Elphaba paused as he looked at her as she seemed to reconsider her words, "I will make every last moment last. As long as you're mine."

"Always," he breathed as his lips found her neck in the darkness, "I will always be yours, just as you are mine."

As the Gillikin forest surrounded the couple, they woke up their bodies and borrowed the moonlight until it was through.
