Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
I finish and look up to the class.
"Great poem, very intriguing Bella. Please have your tablet on my desk by tomorrow." Mrs. Bresiger says and calls up the next student.
I make my way back to my desk, making sure to walk at a human-like pace.
I glide into my seat, make sure nobody is looking, and pull my new iPhone 20 under the table. It had been a gift from Jacob and my daughter when they got home from there anniversary vacation a month ago. They said it was a "Thank You" gift for letting them use my island. Another unnecessary present from Edward.
I message Edward first, knowing he was worried about me. We only had one class apart, but he still watches me like a hawk. I tell him that the teacher loved my poem and that I love him.
He instantly replies, "I knew she would, I love you too my darling!"
Next I tell Jacob and Ren that family dinner was at Charlie's house tonight and to be there at seven. Even though most of us don't eat human food, we still sit with them so we can spend time together.
My father didn't live in the house anymore, he had passed away almost fifty years before, but when we had kept the house so when we returned to Forks it was there. Carlisle and Esme live there now, but it's still called Charlie's. At the beginning, I was scared someone was going to recognize us when we moved back in, but Edward assured me that all my friends and neighbors had passed on or moved away.
Jacob says, "k thx bells, c u then" and Ren replies, "k thx mom, love u! tell daddy i said hi and i wil 2nyt 3 :)"
I smile to myself and forward the message to Edward.
After playing Angry Robots for a little while, I look up to see that the class was over and everyone was packing up. I gather my binders and very slowly walk out the door.
