It was a cool crisp Nightmare Night. The full moon shown dimly, shrouded with clouds, down on Ponyville. I was putting the final touches on my Eridan costume, making sure my horns were in place. "Alright, perfection!" I said to myself, probably prouder than I should have been over the poorly put together cosplay. "Yo Switch, you ready?" I said to the other room, while leaving my own. "Yeah sure." He said blandly, walking out of the room taking on the form of Princess Cadence, "I still don't see the magic of this day though. Luna left the moon didn't she?"
"Yeah, but still, it's kinda turned into a tradition type thing." I tried to explain to him.
"Okay, I guess that makes sense." He said. I quickly picked up on the 'not caring' in his voice, so I just dropped the subject.
"So ready lets go get the others I guess." The others being Keoh, Willow, and Cheyenne, our friends, neighbors, and Willow being my girlfriend.
I knock at the door of the Theodine household. "Hold on." Keoh's voice rings from behind the door. He opens the door, dressed as Roy Mustang. "Hey QT, Switch, come on in." He said, motioning us in.
"Hey guys." The girls say, dress as gender swaps of Ed and Al Elric. Cheyenne, with a dull blade attached to her mechanical foreleg, red coat, and her mane done into a blonde braid.
"Hey hon, so what are you supposed to be?" Willow said through the armor Cheyenne through together for her.
"I am Eridan Ampora! Highblood sea dwweller supreme!" I try to pull a voice act thing, though it falls flat.
"Eri-who now?" She says, unknowing who or what I was talking about.
"You'd know if you read Homestuck." Almost in a singing tone.
"No." She says sweetly, lifting her helmet and giving me a peck on the cheek. "So are you guys ready to get moving or not? I'm ready for some sweets."
"Same here lets get moving!" Says Keoh, going out to check the outside. He returns a minute later, I could tell something was wrong by the look on his face. "Willow, may I speak with you in the kitchen. Now please!"
"Um, sure." Not knowing exactly what's going on, she follows him in the kitchen. Switch, Cheyenne, and I look at each other confused.
Moments pass that feel like forever, when they finally leave the room. Keoh looking serious and concerned, while Willow seemed worried and saddened. Keoh finally spoke." I'm sorry guys, but Willow and I can't go with you tonight. QT, Switch, Cheyenne, you guys go on and have a good time without us."
"Why?" Cheyenne asks, sounding very concerned.
"It's just because, well because we just can't!" Said the mare in the armor.
"Now now, I'm sure they have their reasons and we will respect them." I interject, " So Ed, Cadence, you two have fun and bring back three times as much candy. Meet back at my house when you're done. I'll stay back with Mustang and Alphonse."
"But still, why does-" Switch tries to get out before I interrupt.
"Shhhoo shoo shoosh! No more words, go get candy." I say while pushing the odd pair out the door, and shutting it behind them.
"Well, thanks for that QT, now you can go with them."
"Can it Keoh." I say, suddenly more sternly. "Now what's going on here?"
"It's nothing, really. Now get going, now!" Keoh sounding stressed and worried.
"Now Keoh, I can magically pull the answer from you in several ways, some very painful. Now I'm going to ask again, what is going on here?" I ignite my horn with a magic flame to make it seem more believable.
"It's the werewolf curse!" Blurted out Willow.
