Written at about 1AM, and came about due to a rumor I heard. Thought I would put the idea out there. I apologize if it's choppy, but I hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: I own nothing in this story. Not even the general idea- just the details I make up and the words. If it looks familiar, it's not mine. Belongs to the BCC, in fact.

The Doctor walked to the doors of the TARDIS, slowly making his way out onto the street. He could feel the energy and power associated with regeneration, despite the fact that he wasn't hurt. His time sense was running in over-time. He knew he didn't have long left before he was mortally wounded, but before he died he had a few good-byes to make.

One of which was to her.

The streets were filled with various gatherings and people having a good time. He wasn't sure when the TARDIS had landed him, but he knew where. The corner of the Powell Estates in London was a familiar one at that. As he walked amongst the crowds, he noticed little things- champagne and party hats, streamers and noisemakers littered the tables strewn about. As he walked he heard a very familiar voice pierce the air, making his eye twitch and his face twinge in pain.

"Alright you lot. Gather 'round, the clock'll go off any minute! Don't want to miss midnight!" screeched Jackie Tyler. The Doctor could just make out her bleach-blonde hair and boisterous aura, as well as her red face- probably from drinking- between the crowds.

Close by, he could see her- she was younger, obviously, her hair not quite as blonde as he remembered but her face just as beautiful. The black coat she wore reminded him of his regeneration to this form, covering a light pink shirt. Her hand was entwined with Mickey's, and she looked just as vacant as he tried to coax her into a kiss at midnight. The Doctor smiled at the scene.

He felt his hearts twinge in pain and he was forced to crouch in an attempt to recover. The parties continued around him, oblivious to the Time Lord beside them.

"Hey- are you alright, mate?" His pain stopped as his hearts stilled. Looking up, he saw Rose Tyler standing before him. She bent down to examine his face, and glancing for signs of outward injury. "Do you need me to call the doctor or something?"

He chuckled at her question. "Always alright. What day is it? What year?" He glanced into her soulful brown eyes, afraid that if he looked to long he would be drawn in, grab a hold her, and never let go.

Just as she opened her mouth to answer, cheers went up among the crowd. She laughed that beautiful laugh and The Doctor's hearts clenched- and this time, it was not from pain of regeneration.

"2004." Her smile lit up his own face as he mirrored her grin. He reached out to cup her cheek.

"You are going to have a fantastic year." With that, he leaned into kiss her deeply. She froze momentarily before responding in earnest.

All to soon he pulled away. She opened her eyes slowly and stared at The Doctor in wonder, with the beginnings of love deep down. The Doctor glanced behind her swiftly and saw Mickey's angry face in the background. His smile growing just a bit more, he helped Rose to her feet and kissed her lightly once more before turning on his heel and walking away.

Rose stood still, confused at the actions of this strange man. She already missed his kiss and she didn't even know his name.

The Doctor stepped back into the TARDIS, and went to the consol. He tapped a few controls, pulled a few levers, but let the ship fly herself. She knew where to go.

After all, she had led him home for the last time.

FIN.

PS- I said 2004 because to me, the timeline goes… 2004: Rose meets 9, 2005: He beings her home- oops-, 2006: She travels with 10 and the story goes progressively over the years.
