A/N: I apologize this is short. It was longer but I decided to make it a few chapters.
A bright sunny day turned tragic for several people, mostly for a white-haired teen whose already lost so much.
A young tri-colored haired teen had been outside the Game Shop cleaning up as usual, wearing the Millennium Puzzle that glinted in the sun. He knew he didn't have to wear it as much being that his darker half has his own body as the other two spirits do as well. He had seen Bakura every so often but that's about it. The former thief had seemed off lately and the only one that could say decided to stay away from the close knit group of friends. He looked out onto the road as a group of cars went down it and sighed. He wasn't sure why he was worried about the thief, probably because it was his nature. But why worry over someone that has caused nothing but trouble?
"Yugi…?" Said teen jumped and shook his head from his thoughts when he heard the other teen speaking to him. He didn't notice him come up.
"What's up, Ryou?" He asked the white-haired teen.
Ryou shook his head and sighed. "Have you seen Bakura?"
Yugi thought for a moment and shook his head. "No, I haven't seen him. Not for a few days now. Is something wrong?"
Ryou shook his head and smiled a bit. "I'm not really sure. He wasn't doing that great last time I saw him. He seemed to be in a lot of pain."
Yugi tilted his head then jumped when a gold object landed a few feet from where he stood. He moved toward it and knelt down looking at it then picked it up, wincing slightly as he felt an odd heat about it. He blinked when he realized he was holding the Millennium Ring. "Shit…"
Ryou's eye widened as he took the Ring from the other's hands and looked at it closely. He fingered the rope and frowned at the way it had torn as if ripped off someone's neck. He then felt an odd stickiness from the cooling object. He gasped realizing what it was. He quickly looked to Yugi who was busy staring at something farther up the road. Yugi looked back to him with an unreadable expression. "I think Bakura's hurt badly." Ryou told him as he held up the Ring.
Yugi nodded and pointed down the road to a motionless figure. He then began to jog toward the motionless figure and stopped beside it, Ryou close behind.
"Bakura!" Ryou shouted when he saw who the figure was. He stopped beside the thief and dropped to his knees on the ground, ignoring the large amounts of blood pooling on the asphalt. His stomach twisted in knots as he looked over his dark half then glanced at Yugi who was fumbling with the thif's wrist trying to find a pulse. After a few minutes, Yugi looked back at him. "His pulse is too low. He won't last much longer." He said with tears in his eyes.
Ryou frowned and noted the thief's shallow, rapid breathing. He gently pushed him into a more comfortable position only to be awarded with a groan of pain from the thief. He didn't like seeing others in pain, no matter who it was. He looked over the thief and saw thin black string around his wrists and a thin stream of blood. He saw numerous scratches that adorned the thief's arms and what he could see of his upper body. He looked up when he heard sirens coming and felt a light tug on his shirt, causing him to look down to the thief and into his eyes.
"What happened, Bakura? Who did this to you?" He asked worriedly while looking over the thief's body, covered in blood.
