Dreams
Forbidden fruit sat on the other side of the room in the middle of the "Discipline Committee", looking lovely, yet so…untouchable.
I looked past the group I sat with, gazing dreamily at the blonde with the alluring scar on his face. I closed my eyes, imagining his lips lightly on mine. How wonderful his body would feel pressed against mine. How did he kiss? How did he love?
Did he love?
I lost myself in my imagination. The thoughts came up again. Usually, they didn't leave my bedroom, but today…just seeing him, it drove me insane all over again. I opened my eyes again and he was looking right at me.
The sudden interest he had taken in me had started the fantasies I had been having and the little thrill of thinking 'maybe he feels the same way' continued to fuel the fire. It forced my brain to concoct more and more fantasies, more and more loving thoughts. Dreams of caressing him. Dreams of him kissing me, dominating me, whispering fierce, loving words in my ear with a heavy voice.
But every time I opened my eyes in the morning, I was all alone. The dreams had cracked and they lay all around me, broken. I would be alone every time.
Now he seemed to be looking right at me, shooting me seductive glances as his friends talked over him in a heated discussion. He looked past the two of them, straight at me and I felt my face grow hot.
One of his eyes closed in a brisk wink. I looked around to see who else he could possibly be looking at. My group talked loudly, for once not questioning my silence.
Me? I mouthed.
He nodded with a smirk. He titled his head over to the exit of the cafeteria. My eyes widened and he nodded again with that beautiful smirk still on his face.
I stood and began walking over to the door.
"Where are you going?" I heard Zell ask behind me, but I kept walking.
Finally I turned around at the sound of my name.
"I don't feel well." I lied, feeling better than I had felt in months, "I'm just gonna catch up with you guys later."
I walked over to the double doors and closed them behind me.
"Hey Squall…" Seifer said with the heavy voice that plagued my dreams.
He kissed me lightly on my lips and began walking to the dormitories.
I jogged after him like a dog lovingly running after his owner.
This time, when I awoke, I wasn't alone and my dreams were still intact…
