I'll tell you now, if you would have told me I was going to be in ANBU when I was in the academy, I probably would have believed you. After all, back then, I believed I was the best thing since sliced bread when it came to being a ninja. If you would have told me when I was a genin, the same would have applied, only I'd announce my greatness a little bit quieter. But when Sasuke-teme left, I'd have laughed in your face. Uzumaki Naruto's my name. I hold the Great and Powerful Kyuubi no Yoko in my bellybutton. Yes, that's right kids, the great ninetailed fox demon is in my stomach.

I always wondered why I ate so much. I was eating for 2!

When I left to go train with Ero-Senin, I felt worthless. After all, as the pervert spent a good 4 months following an Akatsuki trail, I failed a lot of missions. A good few people could have gotten hurt from my rashness. Namely, Hyuuga Hinata, an ex-girlfriend who I'm still on good terms with, and Inuzuka Kiba, a good friend of mine, who is currently in a heavy relationship with Hinata-chan. After all, they had specialized skills, and weren't called much for a team. So, I was normally teamed with them in supposedly easy missions until Jiraiya got back. Stupid old lady…

Anyway, my depression that had mounted up since Sasuke-teme left, slowly disappeared during the 2 odd years I was training. Sakura had trained with the legendary Tsunade for medic-nin abilities. She also gained her monstrous strength, trust me…

So what does being in ANBU have anything to do with this? Well, everything.

Soon after we came back from the Grass country, I went to the Genin Exams in Sand, using my usual outside of Team 7 teamates. Hinata and Kiba had gone with me, disguised as genin, and helped me get through the first two exams rather quickly, giving up before the fights.

After I got back, chunin vest equipped, the Godaime immediately tested Sakura, Lee, and I for Jounin. We went home the next month as proud Jounins.

Shortly afterwards, Jiraiya hit a lead. Orochimaru, Kabuto, and Sasuke were going to attack a whole village that was occupied by Itachi. Not wanting to be bested by either bastard, Tsunade sent every jounin and chunin there.

I made my first kill there.

The battle raged on for days, as the Leaf army attacked the Sound Army.

I saw Iruka fall at the hands of Kabuto. When I lost control at the Grass Country, I had hit four tails.

When Iruka hit the ground, I had six. And I hadn't lost control either. Hell, Kyuubi didn't even know why.

So when I say my first kill, I mean an army fell at my hands.

We had a few casualties, but only Orochimaru escaped, with no sign of Sasuke.

Turns out, he was just about to start fighting Itachi when Iruka was killed.

I still remember how it felt to ram the Rasengan Drill through Itachi's head. After all, he was distracted by Sasuke frying him with a Chidori Current, and I was still on a Kyuubi rush.

Now, by then, I was sure Sakura liked me. Yamato had hinted at it a lot, when we went on another mission with him, leaving Sakura blushing every time, and my dense self wondering. But with Sasuke back now, it was all forgotten. I was bitter at first, but then, I realized. If not me, then why not my best friend? Personally, I think Sai was a little bummed himself. So, really long story made short, the point is, Sasuke is back. Even proved loyalty by killing Orochimaru, after the Hokage and Sakura removed his seal. Of course, without Kabuto, an army, or a vessel, he was nothing but a weak and dying shell, but hey. You do what you can to keep from dying.

Everything went back to normal. Akatsuki suffered subsequently after losing more members. The leader is still at large, though, with only one clue about his identity. He's a leaf nin. I joined the ANBU at the age of 17, being one of the youngest they had ever had, and the only one who could kill an army in less than 5 minutes.

Kiba's getting ready to pop the question, Shino and that bee lady from the bikochuu mission got together surprisingly, Sasuke and Sakura are dating off and on. Shikamaru and Temari have twins, a boy and a girl, now. It was a big fuss, but Gaara and Tsuande let Temari stay as a Embassy to the Sand in the Leaf Village. Lee and Gai-sensei's niece are in love. Too much youth in that relationship.

Neji got together with Ino, oddly enough. Chouji, being Chouji, is getting married to Ayame from the ramen stand soon.

Leaving me alone, like I used to be.

"Oh, no I'm late!" a young woman cried out at the alarm blaring.

It was her first day in the ANBU, and all ready she was going to be late.

She was going to meet her team today at Training Field 7, near the War Hero Memorial.

-Training Field 7-

"Captain, she's here," a man said, wearing black skin tight clothes that showed his midriff. He had a bowl cut black hair, and a blank mask covered his face.

"Okay, Sai, thanks," boomed another man. He had blonde hair and a fox mask on, with orange ANBU armor, and a black outfit. He wore a fox mask over his face.

"Sorry I'm late! I didn't set my alarm clock!" the woman said.

The blonde man threw a kunai at her, which she barley dodged.

"Liar. You were up last night celebrating with Hyuuga Neji and Rock Lee," he said simply.

"Were you spying on me?" the woman asked.

"No. I was." Sai said.

"Anyway, I already know who you are, but we never really talked much. So, Sai, we will introduce ourselves to Miss Tenten. You first, Ten-chan."

"How do you know me?"

"Introduce yourself." Sai said.

"Fine. My name is Tenten, no need to know my last name. I like weapons. I dislike you, blondie. I have the ambition of becoming as revered as a Kunoichi as the Hokage is."

"My name is… well, you can call me Sai. I like art. I dislike Uchiha Sasuke. I dream of one day repaying my debt to the Captain for helping me feel emotions again, and killing my master, Danzou. Your turn, Captain." Sai turned to face his leader.

"I like ramen. I dislike the Akatsuki leader. My drean is to finish him off, and become Hokage. I am Uzumaki Naruto." Naruto stated simply.
