InuYasha: Life After the World Ended

Summary: Kagome and Inuyasha's one-year old son is living a happy life in feudal Japan. Or at least, as happy as he can be when his parents are still trying to defeat their archenemy in order to protect him and take their revenge, while his mother is expecting another baby. But as Naraku's most evil plan takes place, the family is separated between worlds, and the well is sealed up! 15 years go by, during which Kagome had to raise their daughter, and InuYasha, their son. What will happen when the siblings meet?

Disclaimer: I do not own InuYasha, Rumiko Takahashi does. But I do own the next generation. They were all my original ideas.

The Birth of Hanyou

In a small village, a sense of quietness filled the air. Two women were in a particular hut, one elderly and the other just barely out of her teenage years. The younger one lay on the floor, seeming distressed, and in pain. The elder, sat by the door, wringing a cloth in a bowl of hot water.

Just outside the house, stood a few anxious people, one anxious in particular. A silver haired hanyou, InuYasha, sat on the roof, and gazed at the night sky. The rest looked up at him, and at the door to the hut. One tiny kitsune youkai spoke up, a worried look on his face.

"Ohh…how long is Kagome going to be in there…? It's been hours!" he said with a quivering lip, as he perched himself on a man's shoulder.

"We'll just have to be patient, Shippo," replied a woman. She was very young, and was carrying two infants, one on her back, and one in her arms. "These things take a while."

About 10 minutes later, a cry of a baby was heard and everyone's attention was directly on the small house. Even InuYasha jumped, and stood up on the roof. Smiles seemed to be contagious throughout the area at just that small noise. The woman carrying the infants even started to tear up out of pure joy.

Shortly afterward, the elderly woman pulled back the curtain used for the door, to call the others inside. "Ye may come in now," said Kaede, widening the entrance. InuYasha jumped off the roof, to make sure he would enter first.

To InuYasha, the sight was completely beautiful. Kagome lay there, with a little boy in her arms. She was smiling, but looked completely worn out. InuYasha decided to take a closer look at the infant. His hair was thick, and pure white. He had no human ears, but two tiny gray puppy ears that twitched on top of his head.

"K-Kagome…" whispered the hanyou, kneeling down next to her, almost on the verge of tears. He had a son… This was more than InuYasha could ever wish for. When he was…with Kikyo, he had wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with her. That dream died along with the priestess, but this, he believed, was even better.

The others walked in, grinning at the sight before them. "Oh, Kagome…" gasped the woman holding her children. "He's beautiful…"

"Sango," replied Kagome in delight. "And Miroku, too!"

Shippo hopped onto Kagome's lap, and stared wide-eyed at the little boy. "What're you gonna name him, Kagome?" he asked, not moving his gaze.

"Well…" she started, and smiled up at InuYasha.

"Katsuo," the hanyou stated simply.

"Victorious child…" mumbled Kagome with a smile, thinking it over. "Perfect."
