Sheet Ghost
by Zanza
Following a long, tiring day, Chakotay sat down and
took off his boots.
"Ooooooooh!" he heard a so-called ghostly voice
from behind him.
"Hilarious, Kathryn, just hilarious." he turned
around and saw a ghost- but it looked like the ones that
kids dressed up as for halloween- just a sheet thrown
over them, and holes for their eyes.
When the "ghost" didn't answer, Chakotay walked up
to it and pulled the sheet off. Sure enough, it
was Kathryn, but there was something... different.
She was sortof... floating. Chakotay reached for
her, and when his hand went through her, he bolted
and screamed "GHOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" throughout
the ship. When he was out of sight, the ghost
breathed a sigh of relief and bent down to adjust
the unnoticed holo-emmitor.

"So," Chakotay said at the huge table the next
morning, "why are we promoting the doctor, Kathryn?"
"Oh, I can think of too many reasons to say just
one."
"We've all got time." Chakotay said, gesturing
to the rest of the senior staff. Janeway gave him
the death glare and he immediatly began disscussing
the relevance of the Prime Directive with Tuvok. She
waited for the rest of the senior staff to talk
before she turned to 'Ensign Doctor,' sitting next to
her.
"You know," she said, "you make an awful ghost wail."
"It worked." the Doctor replied simply.
