I own nothing!!

A blood red moon. Such a rare occurrence in my long life that only signifies death. And death it was, for my master had sent me to hunt down a freak that was terrorizing an asylum.

When Police girl and I arrived, the screams of the insane had already changed to the moans of the dead and dying. And the cries of the ghouls slowly crept closer.

We entered the building; massive chaos surrounded us as the halls and cells flooded with the undead, dying and the injured. We walked among them, putting them out of their misery.

Suddenly, roars of fury echoed through the halls, as did the clanging of chains. I left the police girl searching through the offices while I searched for the origin of the roar. The light s in the halls I turned down flickered as the tang of psychic energies surrounded me.

'Master,' the police girl called. 'They have recently used chains, seals and other items that shouldn't have been used.'

So, this was one of those bastard asylums that still tortured their "guests." Interesting.

'Police girl keep searching the offices and eliminate any ghouls. I'm going to find the freak," I barked to her. I felt her acceptance in the back of my mind.

I approached the last cell at the end of this hall and noticed the freak standing, watching the inside of the cell with something akin to amusement. He noticed me and bared his teeth. After that failed attempt at intimidation, he lunged at me and the Jackal's muzzle flashed once, twice, three times into his stomach. He hit the ground, snarling and curling his lib above his teeth, lunging once again at my throat. I waited this time, like an experienced predator, and then shoot the freak at point blank range.

I walked past the remains and paused at the entrance to the cell. Inside the cell were ghouls and beyond them, a girl in a straitjacket. Chains hung from her arms and looked to be pulled from the wall. But that was not important. What was important was the fact that the female was using her feet to disable or kill the ghouls.

All of the energy in the hall rushed in and the chains on her arms stirred and rose from them, coiling and looking somewhat like snakes. They began aiding in her attacks and acted like they were sentient.

Not wanting to miss out on the fun, I joined in the fight, shooting ghouls left and right as they came at me.

When the battle was over and all the ghouls lay died, she raised her head and met my eyes. Her eyes held a touch of insanity and a lot of bloodlust. She grinned at me, again the touch of insanity hung there, making it all the more appealing.

"Hello," her soft voice whispered. She had the voice of a warm summer evening's wind. Her black hair hung by her face which was streaked with blood. She could be healthy but the darkness of her hair and the lack of sunlight made her very sickly looking in this light. Her lips were pale, a sign she was not healthy. The next sign was that she collapsed. I caught her in my arms and awkwardly held her, not used to the closeness of a living human female. I looked down at her and my nervousness grew because the clothing that she wore, if it could be called that, was torn and shredded. Hey, I was a man to, albeit a nonliving man, but still a man. And when a woman collapses in your arms and is wearing very little to cover her…assets you tend to get nervous.

And to make matters worse, Police girl was coming towards me. I haled her arm over my neck and held her like I would a passed out male.

"Master, I've completed the search and found nothing interesti- Who is she," my curious fledgling asked.

"She was the source of the roar that we heard earlier. And I would bet my blood packet she has psychic abilities," I informed her, looking a bit smug.

"Sir is not going to like this," she retorted. To that I hung my head. Sir would definitely not like this turn of events.
