Title: Happiness
Author:
Summary: At the end of everything, end of the war, end of the suffering, he was finally happy. Severus-centric.
A/N: So I was thinking of an epilogue kind of thing where he comes back as a new student. But I don't really like that idea now that I think about it. So, for the time being, I'm not going to write it. But if other peoples want me to, then I will.
Disclaimer: No, I don't own anything. Wish I did. Then this pairing would be established and therefore canon. But, alas, it is not to be. Because I would if I could, but I can't so I won't.
*~ Story time~*
There were tears in his eyes.
Why was he crying?
It was finally over wasn't it?
And then looked down and saw his own body.
So, he had died, had he?
And with that thought cam an idea.
Freedom.
He finally had his freedom.
If he wasn't Severus Snape, he would have been bouncing up and down like a little kid at his first birthday party.
But he was.
So he settled for relief and a small smile.
And then he looked at the person kneeling next to him.
Why was he crying?
Was he crying for him?
That didn't seem possible.
Who would cry for Severus Snape? Surely not him?
It just wasn't done.
But there he was.
The Boy-Who-Lived-to-Defeat-Voldemort.
And then he noticed the Granger girl and the Weasley boy.
Granger had tears in her eyes as well and Weasley?
He looked shocked.
If it was at Potter crying for him, or if it was because Voldemort was finally dead, he didn't know.
Then the Aurors popped in.
One held Potter back as the others grabbed his body.
That was a weird thought.
They were grabbing his body.
And they were carrying it towards the infirmary.
He guessed they were wondering if they could save him.
Potter was still crying, but all he could see were the tears.
He didn't sob. He didn't wail.
It was just tears.
For someone to cry for him, that was something new.
No one had ever done that for him, not even Dumbledore when he had come back injured from the Death Eaters multiple times near death.
He didn't even think his mother had ever done that before.
At least, not for him.
This feeling.
He was surprised.
He never knew feeling like this could be so wonderful.
And in that moment he knew what it was like to be cared for.
With that thought he felt the world go black and knows that this is the end of him.
He isn't coming back.
And for the first time in his life he felt a feeling even more special than being cared for.
He felt….
Happiness.
