Disrupted Routine
They have a routine, Oshitari muses.
Every day, practice be damned, both he and Gakuto go over to each other's houses (his house, more often than not) to work on homework. Oshitari has generally finished those dratted assignments by then, and he reclines on his bed while Gakuto struggles with algebra.
He waits for twenty or so minutes before offering to help. Gakuto will snap that he doesn't need it, but he generally accepts it ten or fifteen minutes later.
Once he does ask for help, Oshitari rises from the bed, and sits down next to the redhead. Then he pretends not to notice that their legs and torsos are touching, and shows Gakuto what he is missing.
Tonight, this evening like any other, he's reading an English romance, Sushi For Beginners, while keeping an eye on the clock. Before five minutes have passed, Gakuto spoke up. "Yuushi, can you explain this to me?"
Trying not to shiver in how he says his name, he nods, hiding his surprise at how early Gakuto is asking. He rose carefully, leaving a bookmark in his place, and abandons the book on the bed. He looked at the problem, searching for the flurry of eraser marks that marked the problem that Gakuto was experiencing trouble with.
"Yuushi…"
"Hmm?" Oshitari said absently, still searching. He faced his doubles' partner, noting the slightly red color on the redhead's cheeks. "What's up?"
For answer, Gakuto kissed him so quickly it might have been a dream. He pointed to a problem. "Number 2."
It was distance formula. Oshitari began to explain, his pencil making long, dark strokes as it flew over the paper. His mind, however, wasn't in it. He was too busy replaying the kiss over and over, questioning if it had really happened.
He did notice that Gakuto was pressing closer than usual, until he was practically in Oshitari's lap.
Oshitari thinks he likes him there.
Suddenly, as Gakuto turned his head to face Oshitari, he acted impulsively. He kissed Gakuto.
The redhead's arms circled his neck, drawing him close. Oshitari's hands find themselves in the smaller boy's lower back, pressing him nearer and nearer.
Finally, they both drew away for badly-needed air.
Gakuto rested his forehead against Oshitari's. "Does this mean I get to forget the algebra for the night?" he whispered.
"No," Oshitari said huskily. "Just means you get a different reward after you complete it."
