A walk down memory lane- one shot (based on the scene in the end of Katrina when Katherine is looking through her family history) I have used a quote from the episode.

" You think is you just bring some family keepsake i'm going to open up to you?" Katherine has said earlier to Elena Before bringing up her painful past for Elena After Stefan has came and Elena had gone with him, Katherine sat in the tomb on the dusty floor pondering about the past, She decided to open the book about her family history She had not seen this book in centuries, she had almost for gotten about it. She felt something she hadnt in a long time: Remorse and pain. She knew that the moment she opened the book that she would be letting herself feel again. She pulled herself together enough to slowly open it to the first page. She lay her palm down about it and felt the paper she lifted her hand away and considered closing it at she felt disrespectful reading about her family after everything she had causes to happen. She also knew that by reading this she would start opening up to herself. She ran her hand though her unwashed and dusty dark hair, silently she sat the book laying across her legs, For a long time she stayed like this until she could stand it no more, she had to reconnect with the past, her family. For hours she sat there slowly and carefully turning the pages as she read, her eyes betraying her usual hostile or playful look and started slowly to water but she held her tears back, about halfway through the book she came across something She had forgetten was there, She had found a sketch portrait of her family, She fazed with sorrow upon the portrait of her father then to her dear mother then she looked down at herself still the exact same as she was now, She ran her hand slowly across her mother and fathers portraits trying to feel as close to them as she could. It was all her fault she thought she ran from Klaus and he got his revenge by taking out her entire family or so he has thought she stared at the portrait as her eyes were rimmed with water threatening to expose deep hidden feelings.
