Disclaimer: Do not own the wonderful 'Verse; if I did, I'd be read into the movie.
Summary: Simon and Kaylee end up in bed together…. Set during Jaynestown.
With This Engine Grease
The Previous Night
"You're funny." Kaylee commented.
" And You're pretty…..pretty. Simon slurred.
"What did you just say?" Kaylee asked.
"I said you were pretty, even when you're covered in engine grease. No, especially, especially when you're covered in engine grease…"
"Really? Ya think so?" She responded.
"To tell you the truth, I've always found engine grease to be sexy, but I really didn't know how much until I met you. Leths get mawried." (A.N. Spelled this way on purpose)
They went back to Serenity.
"Shepherd, marry us!" They insisted.
Next Morning
Kaylee tried opening her eyes, but it was still too bright in the engine room. And someone was there with her. She rolled over. How'd Simon get here, and why is he naked? She glanced down. And what's a ring doin' on my finger?!
Simon muttered something undistinguishable in his sleep and woke with a start. "Kaylee? What happened last night? And why am I in the engine room?"
"Just trying to figure that out myself. Maybe the rest of the crew knows something." She quickly showered, dressed and climbed the ladder.
"Ah, I see the newlyweds are up!" Mal greeted her.
"What's happened, Capt'n?" She asked.
"You don't remember, do you, meimei?"
"No, why else would I be askin?"
"You're going to have t figure that out on your own, although I think there is a recording of it."
"Gimme….."
"No."
"Capt'n… Tightpants or should I say…. Tight wallet?"
"Someone hasn't had their morning dose of happiness today."
"I'm just looking for answers."
"Then I think I can help you." Book exited his room in the passenger quarters.
"Are you sure?" Kaylee asked him.
"I'm positive. And don't pay any attention to the captain; he likes to tease."
"Don't I know it. And he promised Daddy he'd take care of me when I left to work on the ship. I guess he/s turnin' into more of a big brother than I thought."
"I guess you should get back to your honeymoon."
"Right." She went back to the engine room to give Simon some answers.
