Waltz of the Forgotten

[a.n.] Another one! MUAHAHA! I'm on a roll!!! (Watch, this'll be the last poem I post before some REAL stories are made.) Yes, my lovelees, more KH poetry! 'Cause, y'know, Kingdom Hearts and poetry were just made to be together, ne? Now this one should be a no-brainer as to who it's about. -grin- [araclyzm]

In a realm of faerie dreams,

A world of adventures and play,

There are such things as hope and faith

But you must be here to stay.

Three children dreamed of a place like this

And one day set sail to see

If perhaps the world they'd always loved

Had finally come to be.

For many years they traveled,

Meeting others on the way,

Visiting places they'd never seen,

But their dreams began to stray.

Children no longer, they wanted to stop

And return to their original home.

But their dreams had not forgotten them,

And would soon make themselves known.

As the 'children' turned back to return,

A bright light stopped their path.

The ocean became a horror,

And was forced to demonstrate its wrath.

Their dreams fought against them

And finally won victory

The children found themselves in the world

They'd forgotten but had wished to see.

They were given a forgotten chance

To live again as the children they'd been

But to stay in their world of dreams and hope

Was as great as any sin.

They did not know what to choose,

And their time was running short.

Then the wisest of the group of three

Whispered so as not to be caught.

"Perhaps we've always dreamed of this

But we cannot stay in this place.

We're real; it's not; so we must believe,

Because time is still a race."

She continued: "Our times may have been hard,

But reality is our true home.

And if we want to truly live,

We must not allow our dreams to roam."

Strengthened by these wise words,

The three tried to break free.

But dreams are not meant to be forgotten,

And would never let this truth be.

But sooner or later, time would stop

For both the worlds whence they came.

Though one day darkness shown through the light

And made them stop this game.

Perhaps it was the power of love

Or the courage that they knew.

But somehow they broke through that world

And started their lives anew.

However one shred of their person

Would never forget their dreams

Because if forgotten, dreams would turn

As black as the world so deems.

So listen to this moral

And heed it all you know:

Never let go of your dreams,

No matter how old you grow.
