'Sammy, where the hell did you go?' Dean was furious and terrified as he remembered their conversation last night, or early this morning – he hadn't checked the clock.
'Dean…' It was the despair in Sam's voice that woke him instantly. 'You should ditch me. I'm just going to keep screwing up. You've been right all along and now I've unleashed Lucifer!' Sam said it all in a rush.
'Don't be stupid, we stick together.' Dean had left it at that, figuring he'd deal with it in the morning.
Now it was morning, and Sam's bed was empty.
He was gone.
