Purposefully written to be interpreted as any pairing, although sort of inspired by a particular one. *coughJamiecough*
Really, I just wanted to write something completely fluffy and pretty. :)
...
It was a quiet moment, so simple, yet at the same time held so much in her heart.
She lay curled on the old couch, her arms wrapped around her legs and a cup of cocoa in her hand. Staring mindlessly out the window into the rain and lost in a distant train of thought, she was so out of it that she didn't even notice him approach her from behind, at least until he had snaked his arms around her slightly swelled belly and the tiny life growing inside.
"What are you doing?" he whispered softly, nuzzling his face into her neck and pressing his lips against her bare skin.
"Nothing much," she replied, smiling and leaning back into his warm body. She closed her eyes and breathed in his scent; the enticing aroma of smoke and spice. "Just thinking."
As one, their hands moved to her belly, where their fingers became entwined over the small swell that was their first child. She placed her cocoa cup carefully on the coffee table, then turned her face into his, placing a light kiss in his hair. Her now cocoa-free hand reached up to caress his cheek and she felt him breathe deeply against her.
This, truly, was bliss, and she wouldn't have it any other way. Because it didn't matter how hard the rain pounded outside, or the cocoa stayed warm and sweet, this quiet moment would forever stay in her heart as perfection.
