For the ~prelude~ of the NaLu week on Tumblr. (And yes the "~" obligatory with prelude!) It was supposed to follow the "home" prompt but I somewhat went with the "summer" prompt, even if I have another story plan for the "summer" prompt… Why Natsu must be named Natsu? Also because of the song "SUMMER TIME" by NEWS started on my iTunes... Go listen to it! Not only it's an awesome song, it fits with the fluffiness and lightness of the fic!

SUMMER TIME

Lucy looked at the clear blue sky. You could feel that summer was right by the door.

She glanced back at the text she had been writing. She had suddenly felt inspiration for a new story but she got distracted by the clear weather.

Summer always felt like home to her. Not only because it was her birthday, but also because summer remembered her of Natsu.

If it wasn't of him and Happy, she wouldn't be where she was now. She could think about it a lot of times, yet she was still really grateful toward the fire dragon slayer and his blue cat.

Even if it enraged her to see them come in her house uninvited, she always felt a tad happier having them telling her "Welcome home!" or "Good morning!" or "Good night!" or "Lucy, you don't have good food anymore!".

Lucy frown to then laugh out loud. The last one wasn't appreciated but she still liked this part of them. God knows why.

Summer had never been this happy though. It had been really hard in the past with her father ignoring her birthday. And Lucy could only imagine the pain that July 7th brought to Natsu. Without forgetting of course their last big battle that arrived around those dates.

Yet, if it was with Natsu, a new season simply meant new adventures. And with a clear sky and a warm sun, what was better to leave for a new thrill?

Lucy jumped on her feet and threw herself on the bed. She giggled, happiness somewhat bursting in her chest.

"What are you doing? Weirdo."

At the voice Lucy only rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"Says the guy that climb by my window." She sighed. She sat up on her bed and saw a grinning Natsu.

"Are you coming to the guild? We didn't see you all day long!" Natsu complained followed by an "Aye~!"

"I was working on a story! But I'm coming now!" She said, looking around for another shirt to wear.

"You look fine like this!" Natsu quickly said, watching her movement. "Let's go!"

Lucy blushed at the remark. Ah, those feelings that were blooming in her heart were not giving her an easy time. But hearing Natsu's shout to hurry up, she could only think that she had all summer to figure them out.

The last sentence comes from the song~! I'm so excited for NaLu week on tumblr, it isn't funny. I think if I stay in the NaLu mood that I am in the moment, I'll write all the fics now and just wait to post them! Anyway.
