Krem gave me the idea for this story. The both of us have always wondered… Is Rex really just a puppet? As I'm writing this, I have not yet decided on the subplot (am I using this word correctly?) that every episode has. But I'll think of something. It'll probably be about Cat, just 'cause I love writing her. Anyway, here it be. BOOM! BANG! SHAPOW!
An Offensive Term
"I need a little favor…" Tori began as soon as she saw Beck at lunch.
"You want me to tell Jade to give you back your muffin?" asked Beck.
Tori raised an eyebrow. "How'd you know?"
"Well, as soon as I walked outside, I heard you screaming 'Jade, give me back my muffin.'"
"That may have given it away."
Robbie sat down next to Tori and slammed his tray on the table.
"Jade threw a muffin at me!" he complained.
"Still want it back?" Beck asked.
"Where'd it hit you?" asked Tori.
"My head," said Robbie, "There's bits in my hair."
"I can live without it," Tori decided.
"Why'd she throw it at you?" asked Beck.
"Rex called her something I won't repeat," said Robbie.
"If you won't repeat 'witch,' you got problems," said Rex.
"It's not chivalrous!" Robbie protested.
"The girl threw a muffin at your head," said Rex, "I wouldn't say chivalry applies to her."
"Well," said Robbie, "She wouldn't have done that if you hadn't called her a mean name!"
"And you know that how?" asked Rex.
"Are you done arguing with your puppet?" asked Tori.
"He's not a puppet!" Robbie whined.
"Then what?" asked Tori, "He's a real boy?"
"A Pinocchio reference!" exclaimed Rex, "How original!"
"So you're saying you and Rex are two different people?" asked Beck.
Robbie nodded.
"It's made of wood," said Tori.
"Maybe you're made of wood," said Rex.
"Though you've got to admit," said Beck, "Rex does say things you'd never imagine are going through Robbie's head."
"So you think the puppet's real?" asked Tori, shocked.
"No," answered Beck, "But I do think he may have a split personality."
"And his second personality is the puppet?" asked Tori. Beck shrugged.
"And you wonder why no girl wants to go out with you," said Jade, sitting down next to Beck.
"You're so mean!" Cat pouted as she joined them. She noticed the muffin in front of her that was previously thrown at Robbie's head. "Oh, yay! Muffin!"
"Maybe there's one girl who'll go out with you," said Beck.
Here I am… once again… Feelin' lost but now and then… I breathe it in… To let it go… You know the rest.
