Waking Up

It was dawn, when my eyes opened. The big world blurred around me, but the light beamed from the crack in the curtains made it easy to see. I took a long look around my surroundings. It was a white room with machines I swore I never seen before. I tried to get up, but couldn't feel my legs. Before I could have another thought, a man dressed in a white coat, stepped into the room.

"Good morning, . How do you feel this morning…" when he suddenly trailed off, like he just remembered something. He looked at me with pity in his eyes, and started asking a series of questions.

"Do you know where you are?"

"No."

"Do you know who I am?"

"No."

"Do you even know who you are?" For a few moments I considered that to be a joke. It was silly of course I knew who I was, I was…wait who was I? I wasn't able to remember no matter how hard I thought. Was it possible? Did I not really know who I was? With hesitation, that began to build up, I answered the question dishonestly, knowing that if I didn't I would be forced to stay here longer than I wanted to. So I lied.

"Of course I do."

"That's great, Jacob." So my name was Jacob Black

"So am I free to go?" I asked hoping for the best.

"Well, of course not, you'll probably not be able to feel your legs since you're dead." He said in a cheery voice. It felt like ages till, my mind registered what he just said.

"WHAT!"
