Dream Queen

If anyone had told Falis she would wind up Queen, she would have laughed at their face and continue on doing what she'd always done: hunted monsters for bounty. And she would have still being doing that if a certain then-princess hadn't run in to her and almost killed the both of them.

Falis sighed as she remembered that day. Alita had been so frail and…princess like then. The typical image of spoilt royalty Falis had always thought existed behind those walls. But Alita had surprised her: her passion and love for her country, the way she was willing to sacrifice even her mind, body and soul for it. Falis couldn't refuse…and so she became Alita Forland, took the crown that belonged to her body but not her soul – and it might have been impossible, if it hadn't been for that twist of fate that gave her the body of a princess and gave the princess the body of a bounty hunter she could never be.

At least Falis did a decent job as queen…until Kaito returned, revealing the true face behind the troubles in their kingdom. At that point, Falis had thought herself free: she'd travel the kingdom for a while with her friends pretending to be a princess for a little while longer, searching for a way to get her body back. And that would be the end of the matter: Alita could be Alita again, and Falis the bounty hunter she'd always been. But Kaito had ruined that one – and, in a way, it was his fault she'd ever been Queen to begin with – but now she was stuck. Stuck because the kingdom needed a ruler that wasn't going to destroy it. Stuck because her body was one of the royal family, and she'd made a promise to its soul.

At least the real Alita stayed with her, as Milano. Falis didn't think she could ever have been Queen otherwise…especially after losing Pete and Dominikov. That certainly hadn't been a dream of hers.
